*jumps down off of soapbox*
I can now add another bullet to my list, however: Eastbound and Down. It's about a former big league pitcher, Kenny Powers, who loses his fastball in pretty quick fashion. He then goes back home and gets a job as a substitute teacher at the middle school. Powers is like John Rocker, but a helluva lot more offensive. It's freakin' hilarious on various levels.
Below is a montage of the show. The theme song has been stuck in my head for at least 2 weeks. Like Powers' character, some parts of the video are crude and offensive. In fact, you might want to turn the sound down if you're at work, thus defeating the purpose of this week's SSTIFY. Enjoy anyway. My blog, my rules.
*Major points for anyone who can tell me the movie in which this song originally played.
**My undying admiration for the main character's name in the movie and the "actor" who portrayed him.

Six Pack, what do I win?
Without even watching the clip and listening to the song,
East bound and down. Loaded up and truckin.
From Smokey and the Bandit.
FJ- nope JJ is correct!
CRAP
Shoulda listened. 6 pack with Kenny Rogers sounds right to me.
That entire thing meant nothing to me. (Six what? Smokey who?) Unless said baseball players are smokin hot and wearing tight pinstripe pants, I'm not interested.
Yeah, I'm that girl.
Like XC2, I had no idea what song that was nor what movie it was from.
And personally, I think baseball is more boring that watching grass grow.
Actually, I read a really good review of that show and forgot I wanted to watch it-- trust me, I'm not drawn in by the baseball thing, but by the hilariously offensive part.
You want to see some baaaad news people? Head to northern Michigan.
Like Jim, I just assumed it was the Jerry Reed song. Glad it wasn't because Eastbound and Down can only be the Bandit.
I like how the acronym for SSTIFY changes all the time. Didn't it have 2 Fs last week or a couple weeks ago?
Kenny Rogers was in a movie! Acting? I thought his guest spot on Reno 911 was terrible. I wish I still had netflix. I love the song though.
that show looks hilarious! I'm going to have to check it out.
